The Birth of Sirius A
Sirius A is believed to have been formed by the collapse of a molecular cloud. While the clouds are collapsing, a protostar begins to form (This process is shown below). This will be the baby cycle of a star. As these stars undergo further collapsing, the temperature and mass begin to rise and this is the point that decides if the protostar will begin nuclear fusion and become a main sequence star. As we can see, Sirius A was able to achieve nuclear fusion and make it to the main sequence section. |
